About Custom Building Improvements, Inc.:
Paul Sturzinger, owner and operator of Custom Building Improvements, Inc., founded the company in 1977 in Salem, ORegon. Having been inspired by a love of woodworking during his teen years, he went into the construction business soon after completing his education. Working as a finish carpenter, he was found to have a natural ability for design and an instinctive understanding of all aspects of construction, which soon led him to begin his own company. From its inception, Paul felt CBI Inc. should focus on remodeling, which he particularly enjoyed due to the very nature of restoring and renewing older homes and preserving their charm.
Through the years, Paul has gained a wealth of experience along with his innate ability for design and problem solving skills in redefining existing space, or adding to that space seamlessly and with attention to architectural detail.
A True Family Business
Working for the family business since their early teens, Paul's sons Matt and Joe have joined their dad in estimating and project management for CBI.
Matt is a 2005 graduate of Oregon State University earning a B.S. in Business Administration and Communications. He is currently working toward becoming certified in kitchen and bath design.
Joe began working full time for CBI after high school, continuing his education part-time at Chemeketa Community College. He is proficient in CAD and is also working toward his certification in kitchen and bath design.
