Gnome is a full service Lansdcaping, Design, Masonry and Maintenance Services provider for Southern Maine.  We use a Design-Build approach that brings our experienced design and construction teams together in a unified and collaborative environment, providing undivided responsibility for budget, schedule, and quality of workmanship - ultimately saving time and money.

While we tout the benefits of Design-Build, our landscaping services are not limited to this apporach. If you already have a design plan you wish to see implemented, our staff can work with you to ensure that it is installed properly and in accordance with the original design intent.  We are happy to work with your architect, designer, builder, and landscape architect toward a successful installation.

Many of our staff are certified landscaping professionals.  Our training/apprenticeship program, focused on continuous education and improvement, refines the skills of our field staff under the direct supervision of a master landscaper.  We also have a licensed arborist on staff who happens to be the president and founder.

Landscape Construction Services

Our years of experience have given us a deep understanding of the conditions unique to northern New England.  We use only the finest hardy perennials, shrubs and trees, while accommodating proper drainage, traffic circulation, lighting and unique site constraints.  Gnome supports the standards and practices recommended by the Maine and American Landscape and Nursery Associations.

Our hardscape division provides a talented group of skilled craftsmen that can create anything from stone walls to brick walkways to natural ponds in woodland gardens.

Terraced backyard patio  - Scarborough ME

Once a distressed back yard with a small brick patio and a steep sloping lawn - Gnome re-defined the area by creating a series of cascading terraced stone patio landings, stone planter-beds, and curved stairs that lead down to a larger patio, an inviting pond & waterfall, and an adjoning shade ramada.
