He believes it is very important for the client to stay involved in the collaborative effort of developing their vision. Don's design process begins by walking the site and surveying the land. He uses his twenty years of grading and drainage experience to analyze the site and determine how the space can be used or changed. Next, Don meets with his client to discuss their needs, desires and concerns. By using an existing conditions survey of the area, he and the client review design solutions unique to their property and situation. Finally, Don draws up the plan and presents a colored sketch of the customized garden for approval. From here, Don works with the client to perfect a plan they are comfortable with and enthusiastic about.
